Eduka offers a new widget-based home page. This new page can be used on a voluntary basis before a general roll-out to all schools in summer 2026.
Thanks to a highly customizable system and the highlighting of content relevant to different types of user, this new layout will enable more direct access to information, according to the needs of each type of user.
How the new home page works
A customizable, differentiated home page
The new home page is based on a modern system of dynamic, customizable widgets. In this way, establishments can define a presentation mode that is relevant to their use and differentiated according to user profile.

Different pre-configurations can be proposed for different user profiles, to offer an experience tailored to their expectations.
For example,
a "dashboard" model for school management, with attractive widgets presenting key information:

Or a model adapted to parents, with widgets linked to the most relevant modules: finance status, quick notification of absence, direct read access to pupils' timetables for the day...
Customization by the user, using the widgets provided
In addition to the template prepared by administrators,
users can resize, move and hide widgets themselves, to achieve a home screen that suits them best - affecting only their own home page on the device they're using.they also have customization features that can be specific to each widget (below: adjust icon size), and other actions that are accessible according to their user account permissions
.
An evolving catalog of available widgets
A range of widgets is available to compose a relevant home page, enhancing the user experience for all profile types. This catalog presents widgets from different modules, available only if your school uses the associated module.
General or navigation widgets - for all users:
- Icon grid / module navigation (more information in section 3 below)
- Calendar - daily events/schedule
- Text widget or administrator-customizable content

- Announcement board: your latest news highlighted in large format
- News / diary: insert the content of a particular article or event as a widget
- Recent news and events: a feed of the latest news and events

- Recent forum activity: display the latest topics and replies
Widgets for administration or management:
- Students' birthdays: displays students' upcoming birthdays as well as today's birthdays
- Staff birthdays: same for staff birthdays
- Student arrivals and departures: displays recent or upcoming student arrivals, as well as recent or upcoming departures
- Graphs for monitoring enrolment and admissions,
Widgets for families:
- Financial status of account (outstanding balance, advance, etc.)

- Family members: list of students and family members with quick navigation menu
- Report an absence, delay or dispensation for a pupil - quick access
- Latest class diary entries
- Recently published assessments and observations for students in the family, with results/ratings in direct reading mode
For families, when a widget offers information relating to students or individual family members, the widgets contain "slides" for each person in the family:

These slides can be displayed in animated auto-scrolling mode, or controlled manually. What's more, from a mobile device you can easily "swipe" from one to the other.
Improved icon grid
The old home page consisted mainly of a grid of icons, each representing access to a module, or part of a module (e.g. "personnel portal", or "personnel management"). The grid was displayed several times: once for each profile associated with the user's account. The same user could thus be "Teacher", "Coach", "School life", with three distinct icon grids. This made navigation more complicated, and over time, the multiplication of available icons and modules made it increasingly slow to identify the right place to click to reach one's goal.
We therefore completely re-imagined the navigation icon grid for this new home page.

Here are the main differences:
- A single, consolidated grid/screen for all the icons to which users have access through their various profiles
- By default, icons are divided into 4 distinct themes , as shown above. It is still possible not only to change the theme of an icon, but also to return to an "all-in-one" grouped display (1 single block with all icons); you can even combine themes, or create a customized theme by manually selecting icons. Numerous customization options allow you to set up every conceivable operating possibility to suit your school.
- When the user has several icons from the same module (the most common example being "Personnel management" and "Staff Portal"), a single icon is now displayed on the grid, and the user can easily choose to access one or the other:
- From the home page, you candirectly access the internal navigation menus of each module - without necessarily having to go through the module's dashboard:
- Each user decides the order in which icons are displayed within each theme: reorder icons by simple drag-and-drop (in the screenshot below - the Finance Management icon is moved to a different position on the grid)
- Icons can be displayed in small or large format , depending on the user's preference (or the default setting selected by the administrator) . the default setting selected by the administrator) - useful depending on whether the theme block has a small or large number of icons:
- Users (*administrativeonly) can discover the additional modules available in each theme to learn more about the possibilities offered by the Eduka suite:

Users can click on the additional module icons to go to the Eduka website page to find out more:

These evolutions, which are by no means exhaustive and still contain other little secrets, will significantly improve the user experience in both desktop and mobile versions.
Responsive home page - adapted to mobile devices
The new widget grid function adapts perfectly to all types of device, offering a grid of 1, 2, 3 or 4 columns, depending on the width of the screen you're using. In mobile display in portrait mode, a single wigdet column is displayed:

On widgets containing several "
slides", as on the announcement board visible below, the user can "
swipe" from one slide to another with ease.

Finally, on the mobile version, customization features are adapted to touch-screen use - drag-and-drop not necessarily being the preferred mode:

Personalization by the user is distinct according to his or her device: users can personalize their home page differently on their mobile device than on their computer, as their usage may differ - mobile use is more consultative in general.
Activation of the new homepage during the start-up phase
In summer 2026, the new homepage will become the standard for all schools on their Eduka platform.
Before this happens, it is possible to activate this mode on your Test and Production environments. This operation must be performed by the administrator of your Eduka environment.
Note that activation of the new home page will apply to all Eduka users, using the new default home page model, which can then be customized by profile (see next section).
During this transition phase, your school's administrator will be able to access the activation page via the banner on your environment's home page:

The activation page can also be accessed from the Configuration module > School menu > Home page tab:
To activate or deactivate the new home page, change the status in the top right-hand corner:
Home page settings and customization by profile
Default home page template
Please note that the installation of this new version comes with a default home page template, which will be applied to all users, if no other template has been defined and applied to the user's profile.
This default template incorporates all the general concepts of Eduka navigation:
- Several icon panels, separated by default by business domain: Administration, Pedagogy, Communication, Extracurricular Services
- An announcement banner, featuring the school's visual (background image) by default, plus news published by the school
- A News block, displaying school news published via the Communication module
- An Agenda block, showing upcoming events published by the company via the Communication module
Modify home page templates and link them to profiles
From the Configuration module > School menu > Home page tab, you will first find the default Home page template.
This can be modified, but please note that it will be the template applied to all Eduka users, if no specific template has been activated for the logged-in user's profile.
This setting allows you to define various home page templates and use them according to the user's profile.
from this list, you can :
- Modify an existing template (1)
- Add a new template (2)
- Duplicate an existing template
to create a new home page template, you need at least :
- Name the home page template
- Indicate which profile(s) the template will apply to: if a profile is associated with several templates, the first in the list will be applied (list of templates can be reordered)

To modify the content of the page template, you can add/remove/move a widget on the grid:

Each widget on the grid has its own specific settings:

Parameters related to the widget's appearance can also be modified, enabling you to :
- Change default widget title
- Change header color
- Customize display style (advanced - CSS style editor)
- Prohibit resizing, moving or hiding of the grid widget by the user

To apply your changes, click on
Save. You can check the home page layout at any time by switching to
Preview mode.
